AI Coming To Flathead Valley Community College

I’m excited to share that next school year I’ll be offering two new evening courses at Flathead Valley Community College: Introduction to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and Applied Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

These are subjects that are reshaping computer science, industry, and daily life in real time, and I’m looking forward to bringing them into the classroom in a way that is practical, engaging, and accessible. The introductory course is designed to help students build a strong foundation in machine learning and AI, while the applied course will give students the chance to go further and work more directly with these ideas in meaningful ways.

One of the things I’m especially pleased about is that both courses will be offered in the evening. That matters. It means these classes will be more accessible to students who are balancing work, family responsibilities, and other commitments during the day.

For me, this is one of the most exciting parts of teaching computer science right now. Machine learning and artificial intelligence are no longer distant, abstract topics. They are here, they are changing the way we work and think, and our students deserve the opportunity to understand them and use them well.
